Abstract

The required length of the stemming is determined by the quality of the explosive used (the pressure of the detonation products in the charging chamber and the speed of detonation of explosives), the physical and mechanical properties of the stemming materials (the volume weight and intensity of internal friction forces), the length of the charge, the direction of its initiation, as well as the hardness of caved rock, quantity of free face end, line of least resistance.
